Real Kitchen Cabinet Prices from a Chinese Factory: Our Published Ranges (2026)
2026-08-29

Here is something almost nobody in our industry does: publish prices. We recently checked 26 Chinese cabinet exporters' websites — 8 out of 10 do not even state a minimum order, let alone a price. The standard answer to "how much?" is "send us your drawing", which is honest but useless when you are still budgeting.

So below are our real indicative ranges. They are ranges, not quotes — cabinetry is custom work and the exact number always comes from your drawing — but they are the same ranges we work to when we quote, and they should tell you within a conversation whether we fit your budget.

What do custom kitchen cabinets from China cost per metre?

Indicative FOB rates for cabinetry runs, by configuration tier. Excludes countertops and appliances.

TierCarcassDoor finishIndicative rate (USD per linear metre)
BudgetPlywood / particleboardMelamine, PVC laminatedUSD 50 – 90
MainstreamPlywoodPET, soft-touchUSD 80 – 140
PremiumPlywoodLacquerUSD 110 – 170
SelectPlywoodWood veneer, stainless steelUSD 140 – 200+

Two honest notes on reading this table. First, the tiers overlap on purpose — a heavily accessorised PET kitchen can cost more than a simple lacquer one. Second, these are rates for straightforward cabinetry runs; a complete kitchen is quoted as a project, because tall units, islands, internal fittings and hardware change the picture. Do not multiply a rate by your room length and treat the result as a quote — use the project totals below instead.

What does a complete project cost?

ProjectTypical FOB total
A complete custom kitchenUSD 3,000 – 8,000
Whole-house package (kitchen + wardrobes + bathroom vanities)USD 10,000 – 30,000
Walk-in closet, single roomQuoted per project
Countertops (quartz, sintered stone, marble)Quoted per project, separately from cabinetry

Where you land inside a range depends mostly on size, door finish, board grade and how much internal fitting you want. Our minimum order is USD 5,000 in order value — a single kitchen usually clears it once wardrobes or vanities join the order, and you do not need to fill a container.

How much does hardware change the price?

Our ranges above include Higold hardware — the brand of a publicly-listed Chinese company, and our budget-tier default. Upgrading to genuine Austrian Blum adds roughly 15% to the cabinet price. Hettich and DTC are available on request.

What moves the price inside a range?

  • Board grade — ENF-grade board (formaldehyde ≤ 0.025 mg/m³, the strictest grade under China's GB/T 39600) costs more than standard E0/E1, and fire-rated B1 board is another step.
  • Door construction — a flat slab door and a shaker profile in the same finish are not the same price.
  • Internal fittings — drawer count, lift systems, pull-out storage and lighting are where quotes quietly grow.
  • Order composition — consolidating kitchen, wardrobes, doors and wall panels into one order and one container spreads the fixed costs across more product.

What is not in these prices?

Freight, insurance, duty and your local GST. For Australia and New Zealand those are smaller than most buyers expect — qualifying lines enter Australia at 0% duty under ChAFTA, and Chinese-origin cabinets enter New Zealand duty-free with a written origin declaration on the invoice. Current 40 ft container rates run roughly USD 1,900–2,500 to Australia and USD 2,500–3,000 to New Zealand. The full arithmetic, layer by layer, is in our import cost breakdown; production and shipping timelines are in our lead time guide.

Why do we publish prices when almost nobody does?

Because the silence mostly serves the seller, not the buyer. Factories keep prices private to preserve negotiating room and avoid being undercut on a number taken out of context. Those are real concerns — it is why we publish ranges rather than a price list — but we would rather lose the enquiries we were never going to fit than waste your week finding out we are not in your budget. If our ranges look wrong for your project, we have saved us both the email thread.

Frequently asked questions

Is the budget tier low quality? No — it is a simpler specification, not worse workmanship. Same factory, same edge banding, same QC; melamine doors and standard hardware instead of lacquer and Blum. Our board comparison guide explains what each material choice means in use.

How do I get an exact quote? Send a floor plan with wall-to-wall dimensions, your preferred door finish and any appliance models. A line-by-line quote normally comes back within about two working days.

Can I order just one kitchen? Yes — anything above USD 5,000 in order value works. Ordering wardrobes or vanities in the same container is the usual way a single home clears it comfortably. The full process, deposit to delivery, is in our step-by-step ordering guide.

Will you match a lower quote from another factory? We will always look at it, but the honest answer is that a lower number on a different specification is not a lower price. Ask both factories to quote the same drawing, same board, same hardware — then compare. Our manufacturer selection guide covers how to run that comparison.

Who are we? MeShome (Foshan Moyisi Home Furnishing Co., Ltd.) — a family-owned Foshan panel factory, founded 2008, exporting under our own name. Company details, registrations and capacity are on our company facts page.
